Jamie Killion

Minister of Music

     Jamie has been the Minister of Music at First Baptist since 1990.  On December 19, 1981 he married the love of his life, Kelly.  Together they have 2 children, Kristin and Jordan. Jamie graduated from Licking High School in Licking, MO.  He also received a Bachelor of Music Education from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, MO and a Master of Church Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.  He is currently working on a Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice at the University of Oklahoma.

    Besides his ministry at First Baptist, Jamie has also taught as an adjunct strings teacher at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.  Before coming to Chickasha he served on staff at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Big Spring, TX; First Baptist Church in Frankston, TX and Pleasant View Baptist Church in Crowley, TX. 

    Before his call to ministry, Jamie worked as the Choral Music Director at School of the Osage in Osage Beach, MO and as the Assistant Band Director for the Rolla Public Schools in Rolla, MO.

    Jamie is a writer for Bible Express Childhood Ministry Publishing, LifeWay Church Resources.  His compositions have been performed by The Bison Glee Club, Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Youth Choir Festival, Oklahoma Baptist All-state Choir and the OU University Chorale.  Jamie is also a Published composer with The Lorenz Corporation.
