School of the Arts

First Baptist Church

324 W. Colorado, Chickasha

              The School of the Arts is a ministry of the First Baptist Church of Chickasha, which takes place after school on Wednesday afternoons.   Art School is provided for all children in 1st -5th grade, with no enrollment cost or tuition, although some elective classes may require instruments, books, or supplies to be provided by the parents.

All students will be escorted to the S.E. entrance to be picked up at 5:30 PM.  You will need to drive through the alley on the south side of the church parking lot, coming in off 3rd street, enter and pass through the S.W. parking lot onto Colorado, then going east, head to the S.E. exit where your child will be. (please see attached map)

Please Note: Students will only be allowed to leave with authorized persons. Have your pick-up I.D. card with you. 

              Each School of the Arts student is required to be involved in his/her age group choir, and will choose an elective class on a first come, first serve basis. Elective classes may not be changed.   See the complete list of classes for your child’s age group.

              Consistent attendance is expected.   ALL Students are expected to attend at least 8 of the 10 classes, during the semester.  Some classes will be working on an ongoing project throughout the semester; if your student has absences we cannot guarantee they will have a completed project at the end of the semester.  Irregular attendance will also adversely affect the success of the class as a whole. Please help us to provide a positive experience for your child and the other children by committing to regular attendance. If an absence is unavoidable, please contact the church office at 224-5196 to inform us that your child will be absent.  This will give them an excused absence and allow us to let the teacher know so they may be able to get some things together for them that may help keep them caught up with the rest of the class.
